So many books...so little time!

Northanger Abbey by Jane Austin

"...you may in time come to love a rose." "The mere habit of learning to love is the thing; and a teachableness of disposition in a young lady is a great blessing." p.146

"...would agree with me in thinking it expedient to give every young man some employment. The money is nothing; it is not an object; but employment is the thing."

"she did not learn either to forget or defend the past..."

"her resolution formed of always judging and acting in the future with the greatest good sense, she had nothing to do but forgive herself and be happier than ever; and the lenient hand of time did much for her insensible gradations in the course of another day."

I could really relate to this one. How many mistakes I have made where I keep kicking myself. The best thing to do is to learn from it, resolve to do better, forgive yourself, and move on. Time will ease the pain.

"...there are some situations in the human mind in which good sense has very little power." p. 203

...or as Littlefoot's mom said..."Some things you see with your eyes, others you see with your heart."

"Wherever you are, you should always be contented; but especially at home, because that is where you spend most of your time." p. 204
